We’ve only just barely got this baby up so don’t expect a lot before the end of the year.  The bike registry is not yet functional but the classified ads are so feel free to post a free ad.  Also, you can use the “contact us” form to inquire or to send us ideas or just to say hi.

This site was conceived after the founder got his 4th bike stolen in one year and was venting about it with some friends who had also had several bikes stolen.  After a few beers… and then a few more, IHATEBIKETHIEVES.COM was born.

Please come back and check our progress as often as you can.  Hopefully it will be more fun than painful to watch it come together until we reach our goal to become a viable anti-bikethief tool that we can all be proud of.

As a side note, we do want to make clear that this site is not intended to be a vigilante site.  While we do hate bike thieves, we don’t intend to do anything other than help the bicycle community organize better to prevent bicycle theft and provide tools for victims and law enforcement to recover bikes that have been stolen.
